Chapter 08: The Hidden Grottos

After days of traveling deeper into The Chain to seek better shelters, Rhashid and his companions finally reached a small oasis in the vast desert. Exhausted and in desperate need of water and rest, they stumbled into the shade of the palm trees. There, they noticed a strange symbol etched into the trunk of one of the trees - the CaraCult skull, dagger, and roses.

Rhashid immediately recognized the symbol as the mark of the CaraCult's hidden grottos. It was a cache of weapons and supplies left by previous generations of CaraCult members in case of a worst-case scenario.

"Quickly, help me search for the entrance," Rhashid said to the others. They scoured the area, looking for any sign of the hidden entrance.

After hours of searching, Rhashid finally spotted a small indentation in the side of a nearby rock formation. He pressed his hand against it, and to his amazement, a section of the rock wall began to shift, revealing a narrow passageway.

Rhashid motioned for the others to follow him, and they crept through the dimly lit tunnel, their footsteps echoing off the walls. After several minutes, they emerged into a large underground chamber.

The chamber was filled with row upon row of shelves, each one packed with weapons, armor, and supplies of every kind. Rhashid was amazed at the sheer amount of gear stored in the grottos. It was clear that the CaraCult had been preparing for this kind of emergency for a long time.

As they explored the chamber, Rhashid noticed an inscription etched into the wall. It was written in the ancient language of the CaraCult, and Rhashid struggled to make out the words.

"Only a Master Cultist with the Elder Ring can unlock the true power of the grottos," he read aloud.

The others gathered around him, peering at the inscription. "What does it mean?" one of them asked.

Rhashid hesitated. He had heard of the Elder Ring before, but he had never seen one. It was a rare and precious artifact, passed down from one Master Cultist to the next. The ring was said to hold great power, and only those who were worthy could wear it.

"It means that we need to find an Elder Cultist with the ring," Rhashid said finally. "Only they can unlock the full potential of the grottos."

The others nodded, looking around at the vast stores of weapons and supplies. It was clear that they would need every advantage they could get if they were to have any hope of defeating the Dark Mage and his minions.

As they began to gather what they could carry, Rhashid felt hopeful once more. They had found a valuable resource in the grottos, and with any luck, they might just be able to turn the tide of the war in their favor.
